See full statement from the Ministry of Education:
The Ministry of Education has taken note of two recent incidents involving acts of bullying among students.
The first involved students attached to Charity Secondary School and 8th of May Secondary School in Region Two. The second incident occurred at the New Campbellville Secondary School in Georgetown.
The Ministry condemns all forms of bullying and reaffirms its commitment to ensuring that every learner has access to a safe, respectful, and supportive school environment. The Ministry has therefore initiated detailed investigations into both incidents to establish the facts, after which any necessary disciplinary measures will be taken.
The Ministry continues to encourage students, parents, and educators to report any acts of intimidation or violence so they can be addressed swiftly and appropriately.
Bullying has no place in our education system. Together, as schools, families, and communities, we must foster environments where every child feels safe, valued, and able to learn.
