Miner placed on $25,000 bail for assaulting wife

Dover pleaded guilty to the charge which stated that on August 18 at Golden Grove, East Bank Demerara, he unlawfully assaulted Nodafa Melville.

Police Prosecutor, Simone Payne indicated to the Court that on the day in question, the couple had a misunderstanding when Dover cuffed the woman about her body.

Dover, who is also a miner, apologized to his wife in Court. He was also placed on one year bond to keep the peace with a default of six months imprisonment.

The wife accepted the apology and informed the Court that it is the first time he hit her.
