A miner was killed earlier this evening (Friday) after the boat in which he was travelling collided with another vessel.
Dead is Rodwell Daniels of Santa Rosa Village, Region One (Barima/Waini).
INews understands that the accident occurred at about 19:00hrs in the vicinity of the Parakese Village.
Reports are that Daniels was operating a boat in the Moruca River, when it collided into another boat coming in the opposite direction.
Police ‘F’ Division Commander, Ravindradat Budhram, confirmed the accident and said that Daniels died as result of the collision.
