Mechanic shot during robbery in Charlestown

The Guyana Police Force is investigating an alleged Robbery Under Arms (Firearm) that occurred on Tuesday October 14, 2025, at Howes and Ketley Streets, Charlestown.

Preliminary information indicates that two identifiable males, one armed with a handgun, confronted a 27-year-old mechanic at the location and discharged several rounds, injuring him in the process before relieving him of a gold chain. The suspects then escaped on a motorcycle.

The injured man (victim) was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) where he is receiving medical attention. His condition is listed as stable.

Investigations are ongoing.
