Man to spend 18 months behind bars for stealing from “DJ Magnum”

A 34-year-old man, who broke and entered the home of Darrell, popularly known as “DJ Magnum” and stole a laptop and laptop bag, was on Wednesday jailed when he appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.

Levi Williams, of Norton Street, Georgetown, appeared before acting Chief Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus and admitted to the two charges which stated that on December 7, 2019, at Cornhill Street, Georgetown, he stole G$15,000 from the person of Murdock Davis and on December 6, 2019, at Georgetown, he entered the dwelling home of Darrell Romeo and stole one laptop and a laptop bag.

In a plea of mitigation, Williams told the court that Romeo owed him G$80,000 and he took the laptop as payment.

Williams was jailed for 18 months for the charge of larceny from entering the dwelling house and eight months for larceny from a person. The sentences will run concurrently.
