Kevin Anthony, was remanded to prison when he appeared before the Chief Magistrate, Ann McLennan earlier today at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
He was not required to plea to the indictable charge which alleged that on November 21 at Marudi backdam, South Rupununi, while armed with a dangerous weapon, that is to say a knife, he robbed Katiya Dajourn of 96 penny weights of raw gold, a cellular phone and cash amounting to a value of $119,000.
The matter was transferred to Lethem Magistrate’s Court where the defendant is scheduled to return on November 28.
