Dwayne McFarley, 21, of Camp Street, Georgetown was remanded to prison when he appeared at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court earlier today for marijuana possession.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge which alleged that on October 20, 2016 at Georgetown, he had in his possession 250 grams of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking.
According to the Prosecution, a raid was being carried out when the cannabis was found in a garbage bag next to a shop where the accused was standing. As such, he was told of the offense and arrested.
However, Police reported that upon his arrest the defendant pleaded for leniency saying “I don’t thief, just hustle”, as such he was charged.
He was remanded to prison and is to appear in court on November 7, 2016.
