[www.inewsguyana.com] – A man allegedly drank a poisonous substance at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court this morning (Tuesday, May 27).
Shannon Hooper of New Amsterdam, Berbice was brought to Court by his reputed wife in relation to a domestic violence matter and was expected to appear before the Magistrate for a restraining order and child support.
However, according to information received, the man who appeared to be uneasy was having a conversation with his reputed wife outside of the courtroom when he left and return.
Upon his return, it was observed that his body was shaking and a white substance was seen oozing from his mouth, after which he collapsed.
He was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital for medical attention. iNews will provide more details as it becomes available.
