Lindener remanded for narcotics trafficking

A 23-year-old Linden resident was earlier today remanded to prison, after being charged with possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking, according to a Police statement. 
 
marijuanaKyretha Sultan, a bartender, of Lot 70 Amelia’s Ward, Linden, was yesterday morning nabbed at the Itaballi Check Point, by ranks of the Guyana Police Force, with four hundred and seventy-nine grams of cannabis sativa (marijuana)
 
The defendant appeared before Magistrate D. Best at the Bartica Magistrate’s Court, pleaded not guilty and was remanded until November 24, 2016 when he will make his next court appearance.
