A dutiful citizen who yesterday found a firearm with four live rounds in Konawaruk Backdam, Mahdia, promptly handed over same to ranks of the Guyana Police Force.
According to a police press statement, enquiries disclosed that the citizen who is a miner, was prospecting a plot of land, when he came across a bag which, when checked, found to contain a .22 semi-automatic pistol, a magazine and four live matching rounds.
A Ballistic test will be conducted to ascertain if it was used in the commission of any crime.
