Oyanna Stewart, a 28-year-old unemployed resident of Block 22 Wismar, Linden, Region Ten, has been granted bail in the sum of $600,000 after she was charged with manslaughter in connection with the fatal stabbing of his boyfriend, 30-year-old Kevin Alexander.
On Friday, the accused appeared before Magistrate Rushelle Liverpool at the Linden Magistrates’ Court where she was not required to plead to the charge. Nevertheless, bail was granted in the sum of $600,000 and the matter was adjourned to December 18.
Police had reported that on Monday, November 10, at around 21:45hrs, Alexander was stabbed to death at his home which he shared with the accused.
Reports are that Alexander, a carpenter, and his girlfriend, were involved in an argument during which Stewart allegedly stabbed him once in the left side of his abdomen.
Alexander was reportedly assisted by relatives and public-spirited citizens and transported to the Linden Hospital Complex, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
