Charges are expected to be laid soon against a Karasabai, Lethem miner who was found with an unlicenced firearm in his possession on Thursday afternoon.
INews understands that at about 14:55hrs, a party of police officers, acting on intelligence information, visited a Bartica business and a search was launched.
During the process, investigators revealed that the unlicenced Magnum pistol was recovered on the 28-year-old miner.
As such, he was apprehended.
Investigations are continuing.
