A Labourer appeared before Magistrate Ann Mc Lennan possession of narcotics.

Twenty – year – old Nicolay Kissoon of 60 Durban Street Lodge pleaded not guilty to the charge which stated that on July 4 at Durban Street Lodge he had 6 grams of cannabis in his possession.

The accused was represented by Attorney-at-Law George Thomas, who told the court that his client shared the building with several persons and that anyone could have placed the item in the room.

The police prosecutor objected to bail on the grounds that there is no special reason for bail to be granted and the penalty the offence attracts. The accused was placed on $75,000 bail with his next court appearance set for July 21. [Royan Abrams]
