Ray Henry, also known as “Sugar Ray”, a 28-year-old labourer of Queenstown, Essequibo Coast, has been charged with sexual assault of a young teacher.
The incident reportedly occurred on August 30, 2025.
The charge was laid under Section 4 (3) of the Sexual Offenses, Act, chapter 8:03.
The case was heard at the Anna Regina Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Ravindra Mohabir on Tuesday, September 16.
The prosecutor objected to bail and the defendant was remanded to prison until September 30.
