Vice President Bharrat Jagdeo has announced that the People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C) Administration will roll out more cash grant initiatives after the party wins the 2025 General and Regional Elections that are slated for later this year.

“Will there be more cash grants after [we] win the next elections, the answer is yes,” Jagdeo, who is also the General Secretary of the ruling PPP, stated.

He was at the time speaking at the annual observance to celebrate the life of the party’s founder, Dr Cheddi Jagan, at Babu Jaan, Port Mourant in Region Six.

The PPP administration has introduced several cash grant initiatives since its return to office in 2020 – a move that was recently lauded by the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Among the recent cash payouts to Guyanese are the $100,000 per adult citizen cash grant and the $100,000 per newborn cash grant.
