Victory is in the air but not yet secured, President Dr Irfaan Ali cautioned his party’s supporters as he urged them to ensure they come out in large numbers and vote for the Peoples Progressive Party Civic (PPP/C) at the polls on Monday.
Speaking at the party’s final rally at Lusignan, East Coast Demerara tonight, President Ali urged supporters to wake up early and “finish the job, seal the victory”.
Noting that every vote is important, he said “if you have to wait in the line, be patient”.
President Ali said the PPP/C will also try to provide transportation for citizens who have to travel distances to get to their polling stations.
“The smell of victory is in the air…victory for the PPP/C is within reach…let us not take victory for granted,” President Ali emphasised.
He noted that the only way that victory will be secured is by citizens ensuring they show up on Monday to vote for the party.
“We must finish this race strong…in the strongest way possible by turning out in our overwhelming numbers to secure that victory,” President Ali expressed.
The PPP/C leader also emphasised that the party is nothing without the people.
“Make no mistake tonight, we are nothing without you, you lift this party and this country up,” he said, adding that “every aspect, every accomplishment, every time a life is improved by this government, it is because of you…your commitment and your hard work”.
Persons who need any assistance on polling day are encouraged to contact the PPP/C’s help desk on 741-2575 or 515-7772.
