Guyanese busted in Barbados with cocaine jailed for 3 years

cocaine[www.inewsguyana.com] –Twenty- two – year old Alistair Caldie Reid will be spending the next three years at the Dodds Prison in Barbados after he was unable to pay a fine of BDS$150,000 for the possession of cocaine.

According to police, Reid arrived by air from Georgetown, Guyana on Wednesday, January 28. He was interviewed by police and referred to Customs for a search which revealed two kilogrammes of cocaine drug strapped to his thighs.

He was charged with possession of cocaine, possession with intent to supply, trafficking and importation of cocaine.

Reid appeared at the District “B” Magistrates’ Court and pleaded guilty to the offences. He was fined for importation and convicted, reprimanded and discharged on the remaining charges. [Extracted and modified from Barbados Nation]
