The Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) will put systems in place to facilitate online payments for taxes as well as motor vehicle licences before the end of the year.
The commitment made was in the 2026 Mid-Year Report released by the Ministry of Finance on Monday.
It noted that the GRA continued to expand access to online services for revenue administration and through its eServices platform, 85,465 tax returns were filed in the first half of the year.
According to the report, “this system will enable online payments through Mobile Money Guyana (MMG) and debit cards before the end of the year”.
Additionally, it was noted that more than 84,000 persons are registered in the Padna Mobile App, which was updated in the first half of the year to improve the filing of individual income tax returns and notification of refunds. “This App will be upgraded to facilitate payments for motor vehicle licence before the end of the year,” the report added.
Currently, over 70 public services are online, of which 11 were deployed in the first half of 2026
including services for the application and processing of cash grants, passports, work permits and
environmental authorisations.
Meanwhile, it was noted that GRA extended tax and customs services to integrated service centres in Regions 2, 3, 5 and 6, providing convenient access to services.
