Glock 19 pistol, 13 rounds of ammo found at Bourda

Police are investigating the discovery of a Glock 19 pistol and 13 matching live rounds of ammunition, which were found on Monday September 28, 2026 about 23:30hrs in the vicinity of Robb and Bourda Streets, Bourda, Georgetown.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Police ranks were conducting a mobile patrol along Robb Street when they heard a loud explosion suspected to be a gunshot and observed a small gathering of persons in the vicinity of Robb and Bourda Streets.

As the ranks approached, they observed a male running south along Bourda Street. The ranks pursued and apprehended him.

A search was conducted, during which a Glock 19 pistol and 13 matching live rounds of ammunition were found in his possession.

The suspect, an 18-year-old of Samaroo Dam, Pouderoyen, West Bank Demerara, was arrested and remains in Police custody as investigations continue.
