Head of the Guyana Energy Agency (GEA) Mr. Mahender Sharma prefers to remain silent on the issue of fuel shortage facing the country.

iNews received several complaints from minibus and taxi drivers about the issue, while a number of companies which utilize large quantities of fuel have also complained about not receiving an adequate supply.

iNews sought to clarify the issue with Mr. Sharma, who stated, “I have no comment,” and proceeded to hang up his phone.

The fuel shortage has caused long lines at several gas stations around the city.
