Former Toolsie Persaud employee charged for stealing cement

[www.inewsguyana.com] – A former employee of Toolsie Persaud Limited accused of stealing sacks of cement, was granted $250,000 bail by Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry on Friday, May 16.

Chetram Ramnarine of Providence, East Bank Demerara pleaded not guilty to the charge, which alleged that on April 9 at Providence, being employed at Toolsie Persaud Company, he stole 1056 sacks of cement valued over $1.7 M, belonging to the owner.

Police Prosecutor Bharat Mangru did not object to bail. Ramnarine is scheduled to reappear in Court on June 6.
