One woman is now in police custody in connection with the murder of Roger Manikam, a 64-year-old man, whose body was found on the Coldingen Railway Embankment, East Coast Demerara (ECD) gagged with a chop wound to the neck.
The gruesome discovery was made on Sunday morning by persons in the area around 06:30h.
Crime Chief Wendell Blanhum told INews this morning that investigators are pursuing a female who was ‘associated’ with the now dead man.
According to another police source, this may have been a robbery since the dead man is said to have had a large amount of cash on him when he left the house and when his body was discovered his wallet was nowhere in sight.
Meanwhile, police are continuing their investigation into the matter. It is expected that a Post Mortem Examination (PME) will be conducted on Manikam’s body soon.
