Police in G Division (Essequibo coast-Islands) have arrested a Dartmouth, Essequibo Coast businessman after a quantity of narcotics was discovered at his home on Saturday afternoon.
Based on information received, ranks went to the 40-year-old man’s home sometime around 17:30h and conducted a search at the premises.
During the search, the ranks unearthed 1539 grams of cannabis and 32 grams of cocaine in various sections of the house and in a chicken pen that was in the yard.
According to the Police, the businessman, who they referred to as a trafficker, has been on their radar for quite some time now. The suspect is being processed for court and is expected to be arraigned before a Magistrate in the Essequibo Magisterial District on Monday.
