Duo remanded for robbery underarms

[www.inewsguyana.com]Akeem Hatton of Lodge Housing Scheme and Seethan Daphness were both placed before the court for robbery underarms. Both men pleaded not guilty to the charge which alleged that on October 8 at Princess Street, Georgetown they were armed with a knife and attacked and robbed Dellon King of $40,000 cash.

According to the allegations, the accused and his accomplice approached the complainant and dealt him several cuffs about his body and snatched his chain after which they made good their escape.

After requesting to speak with the Magistrate, both accused agreed on paying back the complainant. However, the Chief Magistrate refused bail and both men were remanded to prison until November 4. [Royan Abrams]
