Duo remanded for beating, robbing man on Camp Street

DSC05147Eighteen – year – old Teon Simon of 61 Bent Street, Georgetown and Lexroy Rigby of 11 Mile Mahdia, were both placed before the court for simple larceny and pleaded not guilty to the offence.

The court was told that on August 30 at Camp and Quamina Street Georgetown, they attacked and robbed Mark Mollyveave of one Blackberry and $50,000 cash.

According to the allegations, on the day of the incident, the complainant was walking along Camp Street when the two accused held him by his shirt, took away his phone then dealt him several cuffs.

According to the prosecutor, the men then searched the complainant during which they found $50,000 in his pants pocket then made good their escape.DSC05148

The Court heard that the complainant followed both men to Stabroek market where he identified them to his friend. Both accused were later arrested and charged. Bail was refused and the duo will reappear in court on September 13. [Royan Abrams]
