Duo remanded for armed robbery at Corriverton

Cordell Small, 34, called “Mad Dogg” and Kevin Padmore, 31, called “Bulla” have been remanded to prison for the armed robbery committed on a family of Dukestown Corriverton, Berbice on September 9.

Small, a labourer of Number 77 Village Housing Scheme and Padmore, a labourer of Dukestown, Corriverton, appeared before Magistrate Judy Latchman at Whim Magistrate’s Court where they were not required to plead to the charge.

The men reportedly robbed Richard Dhup and his wife of G$615,000, US$2,053, CA$100, Sr$64,00 in cash. They also robbed the couple of five ounces of raw silver, a silver bangle and other valuables.

Reports are that the 43-year-old man and his wife were at their home when at around 20:20hrs, three masked men invaded.

During the ordeal, the wife was stabbed in her back by one of the perpetrators.

Small and Padmore were later arrested by police. According to a statement from the Guyana Police Force (GPF), both Padmore and Small, when interviewed by detectives, admitted to planning and executing the robbery with the third suspect by the name of ‘Moses’.

The accused will have to return to court on October 16, 2025.
