Thirty-one-year-old Tariq Balgobin is now nursing injuries at the Number 75 Regional Hospital after the newly acquired car he was driving slammed into a parked truck at Number 47 Village, Corentyne, on Saturday.

According to reports, Balgobin was proceeding along the public road when he allegedly lost control of the car and collided with the parked truck with tremendous force. The impact reportedly shifted the truck nearly 10 feet from where it had been parked on the roadside parapet.

The injured man was pulled from the mangled vehicle and rushed to the Number 75 Regional Hospital for medical attention following the crash. Residents claimed that prior to the accident the driver was at a social event and had just dropped off a friend before heading home.
