Cattle owner charged for straying animals

Denesh Rohit, a 54-year-old cattle owner of Garden of Eden, East Bank Demerara, has been charged with four (4) counts of Suffering Animals to Stray, contrary to Section 28(1)(a) of the Road Act, Chapter 51:01.

The offences were allegedly committed within Prospect Young Professional Housing Scheme and Farm Housing Scheme, East Bank Demerara.

Rohit appeared at the Diamond Magistrate’s Court on Friday, June 5, 2026, before His Worship Magistrate Dylon Bess, where the charges were read to him.

He pleaded not guilty to all four charges and was granted bail in the sum of forty thousand dollars ($40,000 GYD).

The matter was adjourned to June 26, 2026.
