[www.inewsguyana.com] – Police say at about 20:45 hours last night (Sunday September 07), 28 – year – old Kumarie Tikaram of North Section, Canal No. 2, West Bank Demerara was walking along the Canal No. 2 Main Road when she was struck down from behind by a motor car.
She was taken to the West Demerara Regional Hospital (WDRH) where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
The driver of the motor vehicle, who police did not identify, fled the scene but was shortly after arrested by the police at his home.
He was found to be above the legal limit in terms of the consumption of alcohol and is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
