[www.inewsguyana.com] – Traffic was delayed for a short period on Wednesday morning (February 04) after residents of Beterverwagting Village, East Coast Demerara decided to take drastic action by blocking the road, as they demanded government’s intervention in ensuring it is repaired.

This action, according to residents is their way of putting central government on notice that they will not continue to accept this trend of inaction and lack of empathy to this old problem.

Vehicles were unable to traverse the road after residents took old tyres and burned them in the middle of the thoroughfare. The police were called to the scene.
