Police have confirmed that five of the thirteen hardcore criminals who had escaped from the Lusignan Prison, walled area, on Sunday evening have been re-captured.
Inews understands that the re-captured men have been identified as Winston Long, Teshawn McKenzie, Rayon Jones, Jamal Forde and Odel Roberts.
Long and Harris were apprehended by police on the Berbice car park just after 20:00hrs while the other three were taken into police custody on the Agriculture road in Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara.
This online publication was told that none of the re-captured men resisted arrest.
