…Investigation launched
A fuel tank located in the vicinity of Turning Basin, Port Kaituma, Barima-Waini (Region one) exploded on Tuesday morning after a fire of an unknown nature erupted in an abandoned bond next to it.
According to information received, the fire began in the wooden structure at around 04:30hrs and quickly spread to the tank of fuel belonging to businessman, Brian Gammel.
INews was informed that no one was injured as a result of the fire.
Further, residents in the area were heard speculating that the blaze could have been the work of arsonists.
An investigation has been launched.
