court[www.inewsguyana.com] – Two labourers from the West Coast of Berbice were remanded to prison by Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry on a robbery with personal violence charge.

Andy Hakeem and Alvin Rozario both pleaded not guilty to the charge, which alleged that on October 24 at 111 Miles Mahdia, they robbed Mervin McRae of cash $75,000, during which they made use of personal violence against the victim.

Police Prosecutor, Michael Grant, informed the Court that the duo is likely to face several other charges of similar nature and asked the Court to grant one week adjournment for the other charges to be laid, since investigations are still ongoing.
