A 30-year-old Bartica resident was on Tuesday evening taken into police custody after he was found in possession of several parcels containing cannabis in the vicinity of the Bartica Stelling.
According to the police, information was received sometime around 18:35hrs on Monday that the man was acting in a suspicious manner.
As such, when ranks approached him and conducted a search, a box containing parcels tightly secured with tapes was found. Further inspection of the parcels revealed in excess of two kilograms of cannabis.
The suspect was identified as a taxi driver of Fifth Avenue, Bartica. He is presently being processed for court.
