APNU loses votes in Regions 4 & 5 following recount

Following the completion of the recount and tabulation of votes cast in Regions Four and Five, the APNU received fewer votes than initially declared.

In Region Four, the original count had APNU at 46,956 votes, but the recount showed a drop to 46,949 – seven votes less.

Meanwhile, the incumbent People’s Progressive Party Civic (PPP/C) saw an increase, gaining two votes – moving from 87,536 to 87,538.

WIN’s 41,607 votes remained unchanged while AFC lost four votes, moving from 1,765 to 1,761.

FGM received 2,431 votes in the original count but moved up to 2,437 in th recount.

ALP’s votes also remained unchanged at 497.

Meanwhile, the party’s votes also decreased in Region Five. In the original count, APNU had 6,480 votes, but the recount showed that they had received 6,477 votes, a decline of three.

The recounts were requested by APNU, headed by Aubrey Norton. Specifically, the recounts were for 395 ballot boxes from subdistrict four of Region Four and 77 ballot boxes from Region Five.
