60 months jail for Gold Miner found guilty of armed robbery

[www.inewsguyana.com] – A 22- year – old father of one was sentenced to 60 months imprisonment by Magistrate Judy Latchman on a robbery under arms charge.

Raphael Hiuntenzen, a Gold Miner of East La Penitence, Georgetown was found guilty of the offence following a trial. The facts of the case state that on December 25, 2014 at Georgetown, being armed with a gun, he robbed Anaira Jones Sealey of one Blackberry torch cellular phone valued $95,000 and $800,000 in cash.

The Court heard that Sealey and her fiancé were in their bed when two men entered her bedroom and robbed them of the articles mentioned in the charge.

During the robbery one of the men chopped the woman’s fiancé. Police Prosecutor Shellon Daniels said the defendant has a pending matter of a similar nature before another Court.
