Police in Regional Division # 6 are investigating a report made on Thursday April 30, 2026, concerning an incident involving schoolchildren at Edinburgh Primary School, East Bank Berbice.
Enquiries revealed that a report was made by a parent after an 11-year-old pupil alleged that he was assaulted by two other pupils in the school compound on Wednesday April 29, 2026.
Following the report, the parents and children involved were contacted at the Sisters Police Station, where a welfare official from the Juvenile Justice Department/Child Care was also engaged and spoke with the parties.
It was agreed that a meeting involving the parents, the child’s mother and the welfare officer will be held at the school on Monday May 4, 2026, at 09:00 hrs.
The matter remains under attention.
