[www.inewsguyana.com] – A father of three has been sentenced to four months jail by Magistrate Annette Singh for stealing a RCA Tablet from an 11-year-old.
Omar Stephens was found guilty of larceny from a person; the court heard that on May 25 at East Street, North Cummingsburg, Georgetown, he stole from the juvenile, a Tablet to the value of $15,000.
The matter was prosecuted by Police Corporal Adduni Innis and the convict was unrepresented throughout his trial. In mitigation, Stephens pleaded with the court to be lenient with its decision, since the mother of his children is not working at the moment.
The court heard that the stolen article was not recovered.
