300,000 marijuana plants destroyed in Berbice River area

[www.inewsguynaa.com] – On Saturday, August 08, ranks of the Police Narcotics Branch and of ‘B’ Division conducted a drug eradication operation in the Hendrix, Berbice River area during which four fields of marijuana plants, about 20 acres in size, were found.

According to a police report, the fields contained approximately 300,000 plants between 1 foot and 8 feet in height. The plants along with 400 kilograms of dried marijuana, 13 nurseries and 6 camps were destroyed.

No arrest was made and police investigations continue.
