A 30-year-old man was on Wednesday denied bail when he appeared before Magistrate Alex Moore at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts facing a simple larceny charge.

coalOvish Chetram pleaded not guilty to the charge, which stated that between January 26 and January 27, 2016 he broke and entered the premise of Elizabeth Rowley and stole two bags of coals.

Police Prosecutor Simone Payne objected to bail stating that the defendant currently has other pending matters in the court and has no fixed place of abode. As such she stated that he is a flight risk.

Magistrate Moore remanded him to prison and the matter will continue on February 18.
