Police in Regional Division # 10 are investigating a fatal shooting incident which occurred on Wednesday August 19, 2026 about 10:00hrs at Prasville, Wismar, Linden, resulting in the death of Keron McDonald, a 26-year-old miner of Block 22, Wismar, Linden.
Initial investigations revealed that McDonald was engaged in a conversation with a 29-year-old man of Half Mile, Wismar, Linden, when an altercation ensued between them.
During the incident, the suspect allegedly retrieved a firearm from a motor car and discharged one round in McDonald’s direction, striking him to the left side of his chest.
McDonald was subsequently transported to the Linden Hospital Complex, where he was pronounced dead on arrival by a doctor on duty.
The 29-year-old suspect was later intercepted by Police ranks and escorted to the Wismar Police Station, where he remains in custody assisting with the investigation.
No firearm has been recovered at this stage.
Investigations are ongoing.
