Ranks of Regional Police Division N0.2 continued their daily traffic education and enforcement activities on the Essequibo coast as part of the dedicated and unwavering commitment to make our roadways safer for all road users.

One such initiative was conducted on Wednesday where the ranks embarked on a rapid traffic enforcement exercise in their division to reduce accidents and reckless road users.
During this exercise, a total of 47 cases were made, and 25 tickets were issued.
Among the cases were:
- Unlicensed Driver
- Failed to wear seatbelt
- Breach of Insurance
- Failed to produce a driver’s license
- Failed to wear safety helmets
- Leaving motor vehicle in a dangerous position
- Stopping within (30) feet of a corner
- Uncertified Motor Vehicle
- Carrying more persons than required
- Unlicensed Motor Vehicle.

Regional Police Division #2 on Wednesday also introduced ‘motor vehicle clamping’ in their division.

Those drivers who are accustomed to parked their vehicles for hours unattended and affecting other roads users, had the wheels of their vehicles clamped by the ranks of the region’s traffic department, particularly at Supenaam Waterfront and Charity district.
