19-Y-O dies after crashing bike into concrete culvert

Police are probing a ‘Fatal Incident’ which occurred on Monday (April 21st, 2025) at about 23:50 hours, involving Motorcycle CL 4491 driven by 19-year-old Ricardo Melville, a resident of Kaneville, East Bank Demerara, who reportedly died after crashing into a concrete culvert.

Inquiries disclosed that 19-year-old Melville was proceeding south along the eastern carriageway of Diamond Public Road, East Bank Demerara, at an alleged fast rate, when he lost control of the motorcycle and collided with a concrete colvert, situated on the eastern parapet of the said road.

Melville, who received injuries, was picked up in an unconscious state by Emergency Medical Technicians and conveyed to Diamond Diagnostic Centre where he was seen and examined by Doctor. He succumbed while receiving treatment.

His body was escorted to Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Mortuary, awaiting a Post Mortem Examination.

Further investigation in progress.
