14-Y-O girl found in Mocha house with male placed in protective custody

The Guyana Police Force reported that it conducted a ‘cordon and search’ operation on Friday at Barnwell Boulevard, Mocha, and Barnwell North Mocha, East Bank Demerara (EBD), for wanted persons, narcotics, arms and ammunition, and stolen articles.

During the exercise, ranks found one Black Hajue motorcycle with registration number, CL 2373 in an incomplete abandoned building at Barnwell Boulevard, Mocha.

The building was photographed, and the bike was removed and taken to the Farm Herstelling Police Station.

At a house in Barnwell North Mocha, a 14-year-old female juvenile was found hiding in the company of an 18-year-old male.

They were both escorted to Farm/Herstelling Police Station, and the ranks of the Regional Division 4B Gender-Based Violence Unit were informed.

The male was placed into custody, and the female was escorted to the Children and Family Center in Plum Park, Sophia.
