A 47-year-old female resident of Annandale, East Coast Demerara, is currently in Police custody after she was nabbed with a quantity of narcotics on Wednesday afternoon.
She was arrested sometime around 17:40h at the Bartica Stelling, Region Seven (Cuyuni-Mazaruni).
According to Police reports, acting on information received, ranks went to the said location, where they intercepted the woman and conducted a search on a bag she was carrying.
The ranks subsequently discovered the illegal substance in taped parcels amounting to some 2.311 kilograms of cannabis sativa.
The woman is currently being processed for court.
