Vehicular collision leaves one critical at GPHC

A collision between a cement truck and a motor car last night resulted in one man being rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) in a critical condition.

Reports indicate that the truck, GHH6778 was traveling from the Vreed-en-hoop junction on New Road, Vreed-en-hoop, West Coast Demerara when motor car, HC440, which was coming out of Ever Green Street on to New Road, collided into it.

Eyewitnesses at the scene related that the driver of the motor was severely injured and was rushed to the hospital, leaving his badly damaged car behind.

There are also reports from eyewitnesses which suggest that the driver of the motor car was inebriated.
