Vagrant stabbed to death during altercation along Hadfield St.

A vagrant was stabbed to death during an altercation with another man along Hadfield Street, Werk-en-Rust, Georgetown, in the early hours of Monday. The dead man has only been identified as ‘Gandy’, believed to be between 30 and 40 years old and without a fixed place of abode.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased was on Hadfield Street when he was approached by the suspect, and a scuffle broke out between them. During the confrontation, the suspect, who was armed with a knife, allegedly stabbed the now deceased in the chest, causing him to fall to the ground.

The suspect reportedly fled the scene after committing the act. Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) were summoned to the scene, and the victim was pronounced dead. CCTV cameras in the area were checked and will be reviewed as part of the investigation. The suspect remains at large.
