Fifty-eight-year-old Anand Persaud of no fixed place of abode was on Friday evening killed in a hit and run accident along the Wallers Delight Public Road, West Coast Demerara (WCD).
Police stated that on the day in question at about 18:15h, an unknown silver motor pickup was proceeding along the roadway when it collided with Persaud.
The pedestrian received injuries to his head and about his body and was assisted by public-spirited citizens who transported him to the West Demerara Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The driver who fled the scene following the fatal accident is being sought as investigations continue.
