Update: Toddler, several others critical; Two dead in East Bank accident

[www.inewsguyana.com]Several persons are in a critical condition including a two – year – old baby girl, while her father and another man is dead.

This is as a result of a horrific accident, which occurred around midday on Friday October 18 at Coverden, East Bank Demerara. Dead are 28 – year – old Delroy Evans of Madhia and Culbert Marks a.k.a Bertie of Prince William Street, Georgetown. Marks was the driver of the route 72 minibus, which was heading into Madhia at the time of the accident.

Scores of relatives and friends of the dead and injured turned up at the Georgetown Public Hospital as news of the accident went viral.  The now dead Evans was the sole care – taker of his two – year – old daughter, Maya Evans who was with him at the time the accident occurred. She was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital with injuries.

Relatives told iNews at the hospital that the collision is as a result of the truck swerving into the lane of the minibus.
