Two-acre ‘ganja’ field destroyed at Onderneeming – camp with 100kg dried marijuana also destroyed by Police

Ranks from the Guyana Police Force yesterday conducted a drug eradication operation in the Onderneeming Backdam on the Essequibo Coast, during which a two-acre size field with cannabis sativa (marijuana/ganja) plants under cultivation was found and destroyed.
The Police, in a statement, said the field comprised approximately 4,200 ‘ganja’ plants at an average height of 30cms. An abandoned camp with 100 kilograms of dried marijuana was also found.
Police said the field and the camp were destroyed. No arrest was made.
